2. CLARIFICATION ON THE HAWAII’S PRE-TRAVEL TESTING PROGRAMS
The Pre-Testing Program is only applicable to passengers traveling from Mainland USA to Hawaii (Domestic Trans-Pacific travel) and traveling between counties in Hawaii (traveling Inter-Counties).
The Pre-Travel Testing Program requires passengers five and older to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified laboratory within 72 hours from the final leg of departure and produce a negative result in order to proceed without the state’s 14-day mandatory quarantine.
For passengers traveling from the Philippines and other countries (International Trans-Pacific travel), all individuals, both residents and visitors, are subject to a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine. These passengers are not required to take the Pre-Travel Testing Program.
