Etihad Airways: ICA registration mandatory for travel to Abu Dhabi

From Friday 27 August, travellers arriving to Abu Dhabi must register via the ICA Smart Travel Service five days before their flight to Abu Dhabi. This does not apply to UAE nationals or transit guests.

If passengers are flying on or before 27 August, they should register as soon as possible before their flight. Registration is a condition of entry and is mandatory.

New testing requirements – travelling from Jordan, Kuwait or the Netherlands

Effective from Friday 27 August 2021, there are also new test requirements if your guests are travelling from Jordan, Kuwait or the Netherlands, and their final destination is Abu Dhabi.

In this case, their PCR test must now be taken a maximum of 24 hours before their flight departure time as required by the authorities in Abu Dhabi. Please share this information with customers affected as soon as possible.

Step 1
Register via the ICA Smart Travel Service five days before their flight – this does not apply to UAE nationals or transit guests
Step 2
Take a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly to Abu Dhabi. The time they take a test will depend on where they are travelling from. Check etihad.com/destinationguide for test requirements
Step 3
Download the UAE Al Hosn app – you’ll need this when you arrive
Step 4
Unless they’re travelling from a Green list country or travel corridor and are fully vaccinated, they must quarantine on arrival.

 

Al Hosn app green pass system

Abu Dhabi is operating a green pass system via the Al Hosn app.

Guests will only be able to enter public places such as hotels, restaurants, malls and supermarkets in Abu Dhabi if they’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have green status in the Al Hosn app.

For green status:

  • Register via the ICA app or at ica.gov.ae at least five days before their flight
  • Download the Al Hosn app
  • When guests land in Abu Dhabi, they will receive a UID number. They can also find this by entering their passport number at ica.gov.ae
  • Open the Al Hosn app and register using their UID
  • Guests receive green status on the Al Hosn app – they must present this to enter public places in Abu Dhabi, including hotels, restaurants, malls and supermarkets
